Sarah Marquis, Esq.
Associate Attorney
Sarah Marquis is a rising force in Virginia’s legal community, representing clients across the Commonwealth in complex construction, business, and real estate litigation. Her practice focuses on high-stakes disputes involving construction defects, project delays, mechanic’s liens, mold exposure, breach of contract, and performance and payment bond claims.
Before joining Fox & Moghul, Ms. Marquis practiced with a boutique construction law firm, where she represented general contractors, subcontractors, and homeowners in a broad range of construction-related disputes. Known for her precision, strategic thinking, and command of both law and technology, she has drafted and argued dispositive motions—including demurrers, motions to dismiss, and summary judgment motions—often achieving early and favorable resolutions for her clients.
Ms. Marquis brings a powerful combination of litigation experience and compliance expertise to her practice. Prior to entering private litigation, she served as Operations and Compliance Manager at Mayvin, Inc., a government contractor supporting national defense initiatives. In that role, she led corporate compliance initiatives involving the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST SP 800-171 and the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC). Her unique understanding of contractual risk, regulatory obligations, and operational structure enables her to approach every construction and business dispute with an uncommon depth of insight.
Ms. Marquis also served as a Law Clerk to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, where she supported hearings on cybersecurity and information technology oversight. Earlier in her career, she clerked at Greenspoon Marder, PA, assisting with multi-state regulatory licensing and compliance matters.
Fluent in Spanish and holding an active SECRET security clearance, Ms. Marquis combines exceptional research, advocacy, and communication skills with a client-first mindset. She is widely recognized for her meticulous preparation, persuasive writing, and ability to navigate the intersection of law, technology, and construction industry standards.
